What is a Teen Film?

A teen film is a movie which is aimed at teenagers or young adults. They do however, manage to attract a wider range of audience than what they are aiming for but originally it is aimed at teenagers. A teen film is normally drama and action but comedy and some other genres can also be used in them occasionally. 

Locations

Most teen films are filmed in the character's bedroom's or out and about in the area they are filming in. This is to give the audience a feel of what it is like to be living in the area that the characters are living in. It's known for exposing the surroundings and the environment of ghetto areas as this is what links to teenagers. Most of the characters in teen films like to hang out in the blocks. This is there special hang out place in which young teenagers call "home". This is normally where the bad characters like to hang out with their gang.

Hall Ways (Sometimes)
Playground (Quite a lot)

Characters

In teen films there are normally certain types of characters. The most popular or the main character would occasionally be the humble one that doesn't speak much. Then by his side you might get the funny guy who talks quite a bit. There may also be the aggressive guy who always wants to fight and causes trouble and these are the characters that normally add the drama to the movie. You then get the 

female in a teen movie who manages to catch one of the main characters eyes.
