what is a stereotype? - a stereotype in a teen movie can be explained in a mnumbr of ways
- a pre set for a charecter
- a generalisation about a particular group of people
- an image of a particular type of person
- exageerated or distorted representation of groups of people
examples of these in teen movies are:
usually identified by their miserable and angry facial expressions and always wearing their revealing cheerleader outfits, and being in a relationship with the most popular guy in school. They are seen in movies such as "scream" and "hellcats".
identified by being the only black person in a friendhip group and usually speaking with an african american accent. also usually only being a secondary charecter, only commenting on what other people are saying. seen in the movies "grownups" and "scary movie".
recognised by being short, stubby and fat as well as usually smiling and being happy no matter the situation. Usually slightly physically abused and made fun of. seen in movies such as "21 jump street", "this is the end" and "shaun of the dead".

only seen when seenwhen reffered to by the boy who is madly in love with her, and mainly only seen walking in slow motion, as if she is an unaptainable object for the boy who loves her. seen in the movies "scott pilgrim vs the world" and "the perks of being a wallflower".
