Teen Movie Stereotypes

There are many stereotypes in teen movies and they are all exposed using the characters costume, props they possess, hair/hairstyle, location etc… Below I am going to list the main stereotypes in teen movies and the "shorthand" to identify them:

The Popular Jock - The popular Jock always has a cool haircut that stands out and separates him from the rest. The popular jock is also always good looking and has a big/wide upper body as he is known to be the stronger and bigger one. They wear an american football sweater or jacket which marks them as a sports player and confirms his position as a jock. The location they are most likely to be played in is normally places like locker rooms, around the popular people or near something which represents sport.

The Cheerleader - The cheerleader is the character that occasionally has a role beside the Jock or another popular character. They normally wear pink clothes with a lot of make up to show us that they care about how they look too much which may suggest that they are selfish and clearly vain. They have different sets of clothing for each day the film is run for. They have a feminine walk and feminine actions and most of the time they are blonde which may suggest that they are dumb as well. 

The Desperate Virgin - This character normally has on casual clothes which can't be separated from the crowd which is mainly the reason why they love the beautiful girl, but the girl finds it hard to spot them because they aren't different from anybody else. They occasionally get spotted towards the end of the movie when they do something amazing which exposes themselves to the pretty girl they like. They also seem to be small/short and kind which makes it hard for them to lose their virginity as they are nice to girls and too shy to approach them and talk to them. 

The Character That Is Victimised - This character is usually either very fat, or very skinny. However, most of the time it tends to be fat as it is easier to pick on and cuss. They have bad haircuts and bad clothing and an innocent face which is another reason why they get bullied.

Funny Black Guy - The funny black guy is the one who has a clear view of what is going on and enters the scene when something funny is happening so he/she can make hilarious comments. They normally wear funny/casual clothing, however still easy to spot.
