Donnie Darko Location & Mise-en-scene Analysis

There were 4 locations in the opening scene. Not many locations were involved because there weren't many cuts. The camera was tracking characters around. Most of the characters had the school uniform on so clothes didn't seem to vary. However, you can still spot the good and bad characters because of the way the uniform is worn as some people had the collars sticking up.

Each location seemed very jolly even though some unusual things were going on like the boy sniffing cocaine even when students and teachers are around.. The sun was shining outside and though the windows.
