Synopsis
The Bling Ring is a teen film that tells a true story about a group of teenagers who steal from celebrity houses, based on the vanity fair article, the group of thieves were nicknamed The Bling Ring. They stole from 6 houses, their owners include Megan Fox, Paris Hilton, Miranda Kerr and Audrina Patridge. In the movie they use their expensive clothing to get into VIP clubs. Eventually the police get involved and they are traced down.

Key themes
The movie focuses on the craze around celebrities and it's effect on the younger generation. They go to the houses in order to look like their favourite celebrity and they also do it for the designer labels on the clothing. The film also strongly depicts how delusional they are, owing to their strong obsession with these celebrities and how the group of thieves strongly desire for the "VIP lifestyle". All the teenagers in the bling ring are obsessed with celebrities: even Marc, the male of the group gives fashion tips to the girls.
Critics and takings
The film is rated 6.3 on Rotten Tomato and 5.7 on IMDB. This is a fairly average rating. The film received around $20 million takings.
